Weil runs a strong campaign that now sprints to the General Election on April 1 against State Senator Randy Fine. This race that has massive implications for Florida families & the US House majority
Florida — Tonight, Josh Weil, a public educator and single dad, won a resounding victory in the Democratic Primary for Florida’s Sixth Congressional District.
Weil dominates Randy Fine in grassroots funding. Fine has reported raising over 425k, with huge contributions from corporations and PACs but less than $7,000 from grassroots contributors. In contrast, Josh Weil has raised over 900k to date, fueled by the grassroots and all without a single dollar from corporate PACs.
Weil has built a powerful grassroots campaign focused on protecting funding for local schools, strengthening Social Security, expanding access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, and delivering economic relief for Floridians. Weil enters the general election with significant momentum and will have the resources to compete and win, having already raised well over half a million dollars in this important campaign.
Josh Weil released the following statement:
“Tonight, our campaign’s victory belongs to the thousands of Floridians who believe in the power of regular people over partisan political games – and we’re just getting started. I’m a public educator and single dad, so I’ve seen firsthand the struggles families across our communities face every day. Floridians need leaders who will fight to actually lower the cost of housing and groceries, invest in our schools, and expand access to good healthcare.
But Randy Fine isn’t in it for us, he’s a career politician focused on political games and the special interests that fund his campaigns. I’m not taking money from corporate PACs or big CEOs. Whether you’re an Independent, Democrat, or Republican, you’re my neighbor, I will fight for you, and I’m asking for your vote on April 1.

About the race for FL-06:
- Josh Weil is running to replace former Congressman Michael Waltz, who officially resigned to serve as President Trump’s National Security Advisor.
- The general election on April 1, 2025 is seen as an early bellwether of Democratic enthusiasm in the new Trump-administration.
- Weil’s general election opponent is Trump-endorsed State Senator Randy Fine.
- With Rep. Waltz’ resignation, the Republican House majority is currently 217-215, and would fall to 216-215 if Rep. Elise Stefanik is confirmed to serve as UN Ambassador. A Weil victory would have significant implications for the U.S. House majority.
